Pastoral Care

BENEDICTCARE

BenedictCare is the pastoral care and concern group in the Applecross Parish and is affiliated with the Archdiocesan Catholic Outreach program. People volunteer to be at the service of others in short term need. The volunteers are ordinary people helping other ordinary people with ordinary tasks which include visits to the sick, lonely, aged, new parishioners, those needing transport, home help or a meal in a crisis.

If you require assistance or know someone who might, please contact the Parish Office on 9364 1120. Coordinators are also listed at the back of the church.

CARING FOR SICK PEOPLE

The sick are visited by the Parish Priest, Acolytes and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. Communion is administered if requested. This is a very important pastoral ministry of the Church.  Contact: Father Peter Whitely on 9364 1120.

CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE

The Catholic Women’s League (CWL) is spirituality backed ‘doing’ organisation, works for all, with no gender roles.  Welcome is extended to all women.  Contact the Parish Office for further details.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY

The Applecross Conference of SVdP has four members who look after the needs of people in Applecross and surrounding suburbs by providing assistance in the form of food, clothing and furniture.

The Conference meets every second Monday evening at 6.30 p.m. in the meeting room in the St Benedict’s Church hall.

If you would like to become a member or a volunteer in one of the retail centres, please contact the Parish Office on 9364 1120.
